What is the Certificate?
The Illinois Global Scholar Certificate allows Illinois school districts to awards merit, on the state approved transcript to students who demonstrate global competence through coursework, service learning, global collaboration, and a summative capstone project.
Why Implement the Global Scholar Certificate?
Illinois students are curious about the world want to engage with issues and events that shape our world. In addition, a growing body of evidence suggests future careers will depend heavily upon the ability of students to work and collaborate in multiple cultural contexts.
How is the Certificate Awarded?
The Illinois Global Scholar certificate can be awarded by any school district in the State of Illinois that opts to administer the certificate.
